The National Forestry and Agroforestry Commission of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) debated, last Monday (15), forest fire prevention and combat actions at the sector.
One of the points discussed was technologies as satellites and nanosatellites to monitor areas and detect outbreaks of forest fires.
The importance of the Law nº 14.406/2022, which includes the use of agricultural aviation in government guidelines and policies to combat forest fires, in all types of vegetation, was also discussed.
According to the regulations, aircrafts must meet required technical standards and be piloted by duly qualified professionals.
Preventing forest fires
The methodologies for collecting data and generating information on the forestry sector in Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás were also presented by the Federations of Agriculture and Livestock of these states.
The work resulted in the dissemination of bulletins with production and market data on the main cultivated forest species, distributed free of charge to producers and the general public.
